Good Morning Embrace Life Helps and Prayer Teams,

I have a couple updates and wanted to share with you all what God has done and is doing!

Update on Momma A: Thank you to our Prayer Team for praying for Momma A late last week.  She is 15 and chose life for her baby!  She was sent home after her first trip to the hospital as she wasn’t yet dilated enough to be admitted.  She was very discouraged and wanted to deliver before they induced her on Monday.  Praise the Lord for answering prayer as sweet little Giovanni was born yesterday!  Thank you for praying.

Modesto Pregnancy Center (MPC) Update:

MPC is still navigating through the recent development with the CA Dept. of Justice and the State Attorney’s Office that began last Monday.

Modesto Pregnancy Center was contacted last week by the State Attorney’s Office and is being required to prove that they are compliant with State rules related to what they state on their website (related to abortion) and also what they teach in their Community Sex-Ed classes in the Public Schools (that what they share is “medically accurate” and aligns with the California standards). (Helps Team see here for more info as I only updated the Prayer Team last week related to this).

For context, the State Attorney’s office sends out weekly updates (which I receive) and multiple times in these updates over the past year they have “warned” about Pregnancy Centers related to “deceptive, misleading, unfair, or unlawful conduct”.  They have solicited the public to complain about their experiences.  The CA DoJ is dedicated to “supporting, expanding and defending access to reproductive care” (i.e., abortion) in California and their attention to Pregnancy Clinics is related to this.

I’m not positive on how Modesto Pregnancy Center received the attention of the CA Dept of Justice (I think the press release said a parent complaint), but we know from experience that Modesto Pregnancy Center is attentive to the laws and in all things desire to be and aims to be above reproach in how they function across all programs.

1) As we have been praying for MPC, I have also been asking the Lord how we can encourage them as they walk through this.  Praise the Lord He has shown us  a couple different ways we can encourage their staff.

  • The Lord has led us to provide breakfast for an upcoming Modesto Pregnancy Center Staff Meeting. They don’t usually have food, and when I offered they were very surprised and grateful!

  • We are also planning a gift bag with an encouraging scripture bookmark for each staff member.  If you are on our Helps Team and have an idea for the gift bag I would love to hear it!  If you would like to provide something to include in the bag as an encouragement, please let me know by tomorrow afternoon at Noon so we can get approval to include it or something similar. Text or call me at (209-595-5782).

2) The MPC Board meets tonight for the first time since they received the letter from the California Attorney General.  (Many of you know Darin and Fran Denlinger.  In addition to being in leadership at Calvary, Darin is also on the Board at MPC.  Fran oversees our mentors and coordinates with MPC as they refer women to us to be mentored.)

Please pray:

  • That all on the MPC Board would look to God and His word to lead them as to how He wants them to respond.  “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

  • That there would be unity and peace as the Board discusses this issue. That they will hear His voice and receive confirmation on how God wants them to respond.  That they would be delivered from this snare the enemy has laid and be able to fully minister in our community the way God wants them to. My God, in whom I trust!” For it is He who rescues you from the net of the trapper.” Psalm 91:3

  • For Erin, the Board and the staff/volunteers to be encouraged and sense His presence and compassion and concern for them as they stand in the midst of this trial He has allowed for His glory and purposes.  That they would confidently await, with patience His deliverance bc of His great love for them and His concern for His ministry. “Arise O Lord and defend Your cause.” Ps 74:22 “But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be in dread, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who disparage your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.” 1 Peter 3:14-16

  • For all those that are coming against the MPC, that this would be an occasion for testimony for them to hear the gospel, that God would prepare their hearts to be convicted and that they would see the truth. But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.” Luke 6:27-28

Thank you for your participation in Embrace Life.  God is giving us very practical ways to serve and love those in our fellowship and in our community as He knows our hearts to be an influence in this world for life!  He is so good.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve with you all as we take our place as He leads us in His great plan to share Jesus with a lost and dying world!

God bless you today.

🙂Lucy
