I committed my life to the Lord in 1980 at Calvary Chapel Napa California at the age of 25. I had previously been employed as a cable splicer with the phone company. My family moved from Napa to Modesto in June of 1985 to plant a Calvary Chapel with the blessing of our home church.

I became a Christian later in life at the age of 46. My previous careers include professional sports and restaurant ownership. After committing my life to the Lord, I became active serving God in our community.

I was born again on April 4, 1976 at Tyler Mall in Riverside, California as the result of a Damascus Road-like experience.  Since that day I have sought to be faithful to God’s call upon my life by serving in any and all opportunities that God has opened to me.
In 1991 I joined the staff at Calvary Chapel Modesto as the first youth pastor of that fellowship.  In 1994 my family and I were sent out as the first pioneers of CCM to plant a new Calvary Chapel in Northwest Arkansas where I served as the senior pastor until May 31, 2013.
From 2013 to 2019 I served in various positions at the main campus of Calvary Chapel Bible College and as a member of the teaching faculty.
In June of 2019 I rejoined the staff at CC Modesto to serve as an assisting pastor where I currently oversee our Young Adults ministry and our School of Ministry.
I have BA in Business from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California and a MA in Theological Studies from Veritas International University.

I was invited to a youth Bible study at Calvary Chapel Modesto when I was 13. I went to a concert hosted by Calvary Chapel a few weeks later and surrendered my heart to Jesus. The Lord provided for all of my family’s needs through my mural business for 12 years. I was a second grade teacher before coming on staff at Calvary Chapel. I am blessed to be the Children’s Pastor. It is one of the joys of my life to serve the children and families of this fellowship.

I was born in Modesto in 1970 and raised in church by believing parents. I went my own way as a prodigal in junior high and high school and eventually ventured off to India and Nepal on a spiritual quest in 1989. But, God was with me and would not let me go, and in 1990, I stopped running from Him and surrendered my life to Jesus.

I walked into Calvary Chapel Modesto at 10th & F streets in September of 1990, shared about my journey with Pastor Damian, and it became my church home and new church family for a new beginning.

My wife, Geigy, and I met at CSU Stanislaus and were married in 1994. We worked in public schools and served in ministries at CC Modesto until 2000, when I joined the staff full-time as Youth Pastor.

In 2003, the Lord took us to Tokyo, Japan as missionaries, where I pastored Horizon International Fellowship for eight years. In 2012, we then moved a thousand miles south to plant a church in Kagoshima City, Japan–CrossCulture Fellowship (Calvary Chapel Kagoshima). We returned to the U.S. in 2015 for a one-year sabbatical and served at CC Modesto. We passed the Japan missions over to new missionary families and resettled in the U.S., in Dublin, CA in 2016. I had been working in public schools in the East Bay Area, and I rejoined the staff here at CC Modesto as High School Pastor in September, 2020.

It has been a long winding path and exciting journey thus far—God is truly amazing!

I put my faith in Jesus Christ in 1973 in Modesto, CA where I was born and raised. In 1984, Tracy and I married.  From jobs in construction and law enforcement, I answered the call of the Lord to serve Him full time in ministry. In 2005 after graduating from the School of Ministry at Calvary Chapel Modesto, I went to serve as pastor of Calvary Chapel Livermore. After serving as senior pastor for the church and senior chaplain for the community, the Lord called us home to Calvary Chapel Modesto in 2015.

Born and Raised in Modesto, CA, I grew up attending Calvary Chapel Modesto, where I gave my life to the Lord at an early age. Although I initially planned to pursue a career in athletics, the Lord made it very clear, that wasn’t His plan for me.

Right after High School, I felt the call to be involved in ministry and gradually the Lord began to open those doors for me. To which I continued to say yes to. Today, I have the privilege of leading and pastoring the youth here at Calvary Chapel Modesto. Guiding and mentoring the next generation, praying that they come to know our great God.
