Philippians 2:8 – “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
Hebrews 10:9 – “then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.”
Acts 2:24 – “whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.”
Verse 1: He held the doors of heaven closed,
And wrapped himself in burial clothes,
Confined himself in Mary’s womb,
Constrained himself within the tomb.
Chorus 1: And all creation held its breath,
While Christ the Life embraced our death.
The angels sang triumphant songs,
The voice of heaven clear and strong
For Christ was risen all along.
Verse 2: He was not held by man-made nails,
He was not dead within the veil,
His presence unextinguished light,
Christ must have bid the day turn night
