Recently on her Facebook page, Jamie shared the poem below which was written by a mom who has a child with a terminal illness.  Jamie’s comment was that this poem “hit home.”   I wanted to share a portion of the poem so we can know better how to pray.

“I am raising a child with a terminal illness.
I have been doing so for the entirety of her life.
Many parents like me are doing the same.
There isn’t a day we don’t think about it.
There isn’t a day we don’t live in fear.
And there isn’t anything we can do to turn it off.
We can’t fight for treatments that don’t exist.
We can’t fight biology.
And we can’t fight the inevitable…
We are the parents of terminally ill children.”
