In early April, Modesto Pregnancy Center (MPC) received an inquiry from the California Attorney General Rob Bonta requesting that they show that they are compliant with State Law related to their Community Education (CE) Classes.  Unknown to MPC at the time, but revealed later was that multiple other Pregnancy Centers also received inquiries on the same day.  News articles in the Modesto Bee and other local and state papers covered the CA District Attorney’s interest in MPC’s Classes.

Pacific Justice Institute offered to represent MPC for free and have responded to the CA Dept of Justice on behalf of Modesto Pregnancy Center.  Find Modesto Pregnancy Center’s response to the inquiry here.

Erin Koolhaus (MPC’s Executive Director) shared some specific prayer requests:

  • That their quality curriculum and fantastic team will get to continue to speak to students that need to hear the truth about the issues they cover.

  • Attorney General Rob Bonta and his wife would come to know Jesus.

  • For wisdom, direction and perseverance for our CE Program as this will likely be a lengthy battle.

  • For protection for the pregnancy centers across our country who are under attack from state leaders.

  • That women and their partners would continue to choose life for their children.

Erin stated that the staff and volunteers have been encouraged to see how God had already used this trial by bringing their mission statement to the general public as it was shared by various media outlets and more eyes have been and will be on their curriculum than ever before.

May God continue to strengthen our brothers and sisters serving at MPC and use this trial for His glory!
